Growing up in a talented musical family meant that Tom was surrounded by live music from an early age; with a Dad who played horns in a dance band, and a classically trained pianist Mum who won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music, and an Uncle who was an acclaimed singer/songwriter guitarist and pianist who performed with many famous musicians.
Tom’s musical voyage started with (believe it or not) his Grandfather’s ukulele banjo, when he performed at family parties; closely followed by the piano, and classical guitar. His first ‘paid’ jobs were as a Pub pianist in the oldest pub in Wales, which at that time was famous for it’s Saturday night singalongs. These days they’d be Open Mic nights!
Real life kicked in for a while, but Fast-forward to 2010 when Tom once again picked up his guitar when asked to round up a few like-minded people to provide live music for a local event.
Thus was formed Revival.
Alan Birch, affectionately known as “ Big Al “ learned to play the Guitar when in his early teens and blagged his way into many a party playing tunes he picked up at Shrewsbury Folk Club. However it wasn’t until he picked up an electric guitar and joined in with some local pals that he discovered his real love - 60’s and 70’s rock music.
The MAELOR MEN, with Alan on bass guitar, played venues from Wrexham to Whitchurch to Shrewsbury, bashing out classics from The Stones, Status Quo , Slade, Mud and Many more.
After a split in the band, Alan and the drummer joined forces with two keyboard players, adding electric piano and Vox organ / Roland synthesiser to the line up. They spent ten years playing all over Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire under the name of THE KADS. Bowing to the pressures of his day job and family life Alan hung up his guitar spending the intervening years playing only occasionally before finding a new lease of life with Revival.
Gifted Singer-Songwriter Jase started singing in public at the tender age of 14, and now, with over twenty years of rocking and rolling experience behind him, is currently the hard-rocking frontman and lead vocalist with Revival.
Jase is well known on the local music scene, having been involved with various bands as either frontman or backing vocalist, including China Red, Antidote, Vendettas, Zed's Dead (with Patrick Eggle), and most recently with Crossfire. Having also built his own fully equipped recording studio, Jase is continually searching for new sounds and creating his own material.
Claire has performed since the age of 12, performing at The Sydney Opera House, Wembley Arena, The Llangollen International Eisteddford, Regent Theatre, Theatre Clwyd, Shrewsbury Music Hall, Birmingham Conservatoire and the 2008 Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony.
Claire has taught at the National Childrens Orchestra and Baza Music Conservatoire, and as an accomplished drummer enjoys both teaching the art and playing. Having played in various venues around Europe with many famous names including Roy Wood, Claire returned to the UK and is excited to now keep the rhythm for Revival.
A Merseysider by birth, Dave grew up with the Mersey Beat in his blood and The Beatles in his ears. Having taught himself to play guitar at a very early age, Dave went on to work with various professional bands playing music from cabaret to country, and anything in between, both on stage and in the studio.
A change in personal circumstances led to Dave retiring from professional playing in 1995, but in 2011 he was tempted out of retirement to perform as part of a duo, and subsequently joined the appropriately named Revival.
